Special Info and Resources for IATSE Officer Institute Graduates
Posted On: Apr 24, 2020

Dear OI graduate,

First and foremost, I hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy.  I look forward to the day when we are on the other side of this pandemic and I send my heartfelt greeting and warm wishes to you and all in our community.  Below are five items of interest for you to share with your membership or to take advantage of yourself.  No matter the hardship – we remain, Stronger Together!

Tuesday April 28 is Workers’ Memorial Day/National Day of Mourning, where people throughout the world mourn for the people who were hurt or killed on the job and renew our struggle for safe workplaces.  During this pandemic, worker safety and security at work are imperiled as never before. At 1 pm ET and 10 am PT, we will commemorate “together” – do so from your home or online as a local union – get a reminder by clicking the image or below for more events and information:

Keep abreast of national legislation that will impact workers in the entertainment industry.  https://www.iatse.net/news/iatse-priorities-subsequent-covid-19-relief-legislation

The IATSE Training Trust Fund has catalogued many online training resources.  They released a 90 second video last week which highlights these online options.  The registration for Linked In Learning has seen a tremendous uptick as IATSE members take advantage of free access to thousands of courses, and there is so much more.  Check it out: https://www.iatsetrainingtrust.org/news/2020/4/15/a-message-from-the-ttf-about-online-training

The AFL CIO will be offering free webinars on research in organizing drives. If you want more info or to register, please email me and I’ll connect you to the coordinator.       rcavanagh@iatse.net
