Through all the holiday preparation and hustle and bustle, it's easy to forget things along the way, but we must remind each other of some basic things:
1. Remember to bring a working flashlight (your cell phone is not acceptable!)
2. Speaking of cell phones, these are not allowed when working at the Shubert and Wang, meaning from the time you sign in to the time you sign out. Cell phones should always be locked up with your personal belongings in the designated locker rooms/closets. The only exception is if prior arrangements are made with the Chief Usher or Supervisor in the case that you know you may get an important or emergency call. This is being WATCHED closely by Boch Center Management. It is also a violation of our contract if you use it while working and is an offense that is grounds for termination! Don't do it!
3. Remember to put in a schedule and be as available as you can, espcially over the holidays coming up when there are multiple shows and when all of the houses are open. Staffing numbers are something that management notices and questions when there are not enough of us available or not putting in for work when the theaters are open. It also could hurt us at the negotiation table during contract renewals!
4. Stay in or at your assigned position(s). Wandering the building or going to other levels looks suspicious and you could be written up for it. Don't do it! The only exception would be to use a restroom or heading to your ON position.
Thanks for your immediate attention and action to the above.
