Is your local, democratically elected school committee among the 100+ opposing question 2? Click here to read the full list of 112 school committees which voted to take a stand and oppose ballot question 2. Even if your school committee has yet to officially oppose question 2, it certainly has not voted to support question 2 because ZERO school committees have voted to endorse the ballot initiative.
These votes to oppose question 2 are coming out because; “School committee members recognize that the expansion of charter schools in Massachusetts creates an unfair two-tiered system of education, draining taxpayer dollars from our local schools and sending them to charters, which are unaccountable to locally elected school committees,” said Jake Oliveira, President of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and a member of the Ludlow School Committee.
“I will be voting no on Question 2...I am very concerned about what this specific proposal means for hundreds of thousands of children across our Commonwealth, especially those living in districts with tight budgets where every dime matters."
- U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren
It's time to stand up to the out-of-state billionaires and join Senator Warren and the Democratic State Committee to fight for quality education for ALL Massachusetts students.
